In accordance with regulatory and environmental standards

Nortec Química has an Effluent Treatment Plant that reproduces the natural treatment cycle in a highly efficient area, being able to avoid environmental impact through the use of defined processes and times, complying with the strictest regulatory standards and with the environment. In a technological partnership with COPPETEC/UFRJ, since the 1980s, until today, Nortec Química has been developing a project of excellence for the effluent treatment process throughout the entire company.

Sustainable Excellence Project

Based on the Experimental Studies conducted alongside with COPPETEC/UFRJ, it was concluded that Nortec Quimica’s effluent is organic, biodegradable and subject to biological degradation. As a consequence, the treatment system and the engineering project of the Effluents Treatment Station were defined considering its various stages: anoxic, aerobic, physicochemical separation and to obtain stabilized biomass.

Commitment to the environment

Waste that is not treated in the company is sent to qualified and accredited waste treatment companies by the environmental agency. The company’s commitment to the environment and its environmental requirements are part of the Operating License (OL) issued by the Environmental Institute of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
